StephenC is a multidisciplinary artist whose experiences span both sides of the Pacific Ocean.
Raised in Hong Kong, Stephen began his art training in both
Western watercolor and Oriental brush painting simultaneously.
Over the decades, he has explored graphite drawing, acrylics, oil, wood and clay sculptures.
Yet, the original influence of both Eastern and Western water-based disciplines
remains evident in the many thin layers of washes throughout his work.

StephenC earned degrees from the U of Washington, Stanford U, and U of Michigan.
His early career took him across the country, and everywhere he went, he attended local art schools.
Eventually, he settled in the Pacific Northwest to run a
publication & advertising firm that catered to small businesses.

StephenC now devotes his time to artistic pursuits - working in his own art studio,
running his small art business www.SoulDuster.net,
teaching and studying at the Kirkland Arts Center,
and continuing his art education at Western Washington University.
In his spare time, Stephen enjoys running, traveling, and
supporting child abuse welfare organizations.
